Patients Who Miss Initial Appointments in Community Psychiatry? a Spanish Community Analysis

Objectives : To identify factors that predict which patients, when referred by their GP, make a first appointment at a Mental Health Centre and then fail to attend. Method: Sequential observational study in which data was collected for one year on all the people (1311) with an arranged date for an initial appointment at an urban Community Mental Health Centre. Results: Approximately 25% of patients who request an initial appointment fail to attend. The variables that predict non-attendance are: the lack of a telephone number for contact, the time lapse before the appointment, and when drug-addiction is the reason for requesting the appointment. Muratorian urban morphology: the walled city of Ahmedabad

This paper investigates the complexity of the urban fabric, from the urban scale to the building and neighbourhood scale, by using the concepts and tools of urban morphology according to the Muratorian School. Specifically, basic concepts such as ‘urban polarities’, ‘routes hierarchical system’ and ‘building neighbourhood’ are used. They are deployed in the walled city of Ahmedabad, India, which has a rich architectural heritage clearly recognizable in Indo-Islamic monuments and particularly in aggregative structures called pols.
Shared Administration for Smart Cities

Within the paradigm of Smart Cities, the role played by urban communities is becoming ever more crucial. This chapter, in particular, explores the paradigm of “Shared administration” as the most effective urban governance model that helps urban communities to operate as smart communities taking care and regenerating common urban spaces. According to this administrative culture, the “Regulation for collaboration between citizens and administration” and the “Pact” are measures to implement practical opportunities to empower citizens, to free their energies and to enhance their knowledge and competences in a renewed alliance with the public institutions.
